Vision

We will make bone marrow transplants a safe, routine procedure by the end of this decade. By making bone marrow transplants safe, we can build a platform to permanently treat or cure diseases affecting millions of people worldwide.

Mission

Through culling edge research and the development of new technologies, we will move laboratory bone marrow research into multiple FDA approved clinical trials. These trials will include the establishment of tolerance for organ and composite tissue transplants, the induction of a clinical cure for autoimmune and genetic blood disorders and the use of mismatched donor marrow in the treatment of leukemia.

Clinical Goals (Short Term)

  • Secure funding to expand clinical trials in organ tolerance, sickle cell disease and thalassemia by mid 2007.
  • Secure funding to begin clinical trials in MS by early 2008.
  • Secure funding to begin clinical trials in type 1 diabetes and leukemia by mid 2008.
  • Expand the use of bone marrow to induce tolerance for composite tissue transplants by early 2009.

Clinical Trials (Long Term)

  • Expand the use of bone marrow transplants to repair tissue damaged by autoimmunity and disease, in particular: nerve, heart and eye.
  • Obtain approval to initiate clinical trials for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn's/colitis and other major autoimmune disorders.

Operational Goals

  • Secure $2M by the end of 2007 to fund research initiatives currently underway.
  • Ensure the funding necessary to create a self-sustaining institute and support a pipeline for new discoveries.
